Still So Sunny :)

Ok another day of 26 degrees, so I did a very little on Bed 2.........but I am planning an awesome BBQ for tomorrow. I thought I would post some pics of the stuff I have been up to while this weather is sooooo good. Nyah, my cat, has been behaving purfectly :) since his new baby blue collar and bell has been sported around the neighborhood and we have seen a stop to his kills (mostly fledglings that have no cat experience :( .......... ), this alone is a reason to celebrate with some outdoor dining! So I'll post some food pics tomorrow and maybe a few of the garden too

Heatwave Hiatus

well, its hitting 28 degrees here in Belfast so for the meantime we are off to have picnics at the beach and a bbq or two. Planning to get back on track as soon as it cools down, only little bits to do. The carpet has been laid and all the painting finished, just the nice bits left like accessories and pictures #big smiles.

Halfway Hooray!

Nearly there, thankfully. Its all pulling together. The cat hasn't left but has been on the slaughter instead, possibly due to the disruption. I will keep it brief as I want to post again next week with the pictures of the finished room, so see ya later :)

Tomorrow - It Never Comes and Did You Think It Was Going to be Green?

As promised and a first for this blog its true, I have the 'BEFOREs' of my second bedroom, henceforth 'BED 2'. Well you can see its green, and it was fresh and clean for quite a while. I always felt it was far from cozy, or glam or anything else for that matter. I decoupaged the junk store furniture myself, and it won't be junked when I finish with it - I'll just donate it forward.
My plan is to get a little more contemporary, with a warm gold colour scheme, all architraves, doors and windows are being painted white.Flooring will be a fresh new carpet :), toes feeling more cheerful already.

So I better stop here and get on, 'cos no-one is going to do it for me (worse luck).

Nyah and His Comfort Zone

Well this is the man cat of the house, generally to be found in the spare bed. Nyah has never seen my decorating skills in action, so it should be fun for us both. Little does he know but the spare bedroom which is generally his and my mums, is THE FIRST room to be transformed starting tomorrow, hoping that he won't decamp to someone else living nearby in a huff.  I know what you think but actually I am all set. I knocked up boeuf bourguignon with herb dumplings in the slow cooker, so that I may get on with the ceiling and clearing the room.  The basic white paint clean up! But if time permits and if Mum has the patience I might get a couple of other small jobs started. So expect some pics and a scheme update tomorrow....

The People Featured in this Blog, Just Me and Mum And My Cat, unless the occasional hardware sales person from B&Q counts (?)

A pic of mum, her name is Joyce, on hols with me
in Cyprus, October 2012 :)
She is the one I care for she is 77 years old and has Alzheimers.

My very smart and kind brother
and his missus.
A special dinner :)

This is me, rarely seen this naked, also in Cyprus.
I have a tattoo and legs resembling milk bottles.
I am foregoing holidays this year in an attempt to get
my flat sorted out, with maybe the exception of a
wee road trip now and again somewhere close to home
to keep me and mums morale up!

All that's missing is a picture of my cat. I'll do that next time.
His name is Nyah (say it quick), phonetic like Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
He likes eating toilet roll and watching the toilet flush,
trying to shag my elbow and killing helpless mice, voles, frogs and now working up to birds.
He is a year and half old of mean, bad tempered killing tom cat, what a sweetie :)

introductions over.............. :)  S
