Mini Mexican-Style Makeover

Hi guys! I managed to complete a mini project that I've had hanging around forever! I'm still waiting for supplies to arrive so that I can complete my vintage dressing table but I spent a couple of hours turning this unloved set of drawers that the neighbours were chucking out about six months ago, into a gorgeous wee set with Mexican/Aztec influences that anyone could make use of!

Not terribly inspiring got to admit :(

AFTER!!! :D
A success I think, all it took was some tester pots of paint (x2), nail polish, a black Sharpie and some leftover mosaic tiles from a job years ago!

Oopps, spot the drip! All the knobs were decorated with
a black Sharpie marker pen and leftover nail polish from my stash! :)

x2 in 'Malibu'
Oh yeah the knobs were as much fun to do as they look :) LOL Fun!
See you all soon with more goodies!
Love

How Green my Garden Grows.

All this rain and warmth has resulted in green diluge of growth in my little garden here at Home. I'm hoping the best of the summer is yet to come so the buds will burst and I'll finally have a garden full of flowers! I've been a bit neglectful of my blogspot of late....sorry :(. Mostly due to my family visiting from America, Cyprus and Essex....alot of running around but worth it! Mum really enjoyed seeing her children, grandchildren and GREAT grandchildren! But I've no excuses now the dust has settled and the visitors have departed Belfast....so picking up where we left off......dresser is go, a complete upstyle for you all to gasp after before the week is out! And before pics of the next room to be re-vamped ( the lounge/ living/ sitting room.)! So stay tuned folks and enjoy the Green Green Grass of Home :D lol.

Dressing Table Delivery Day!

So finally the dressing table is in my bedroom. Yippee! Somewhere for my underwear and nighties to live at long last :).
But I haven't finished with it yet. I have a plan to make it more in keeping with my bedroom scheme and to give it a little 'Great Gatsby' style. Decadent and Deco......and I have already started to gather together the bits and bobs needed to re-style my vintage dressing table from a little brown duckling to an elegant swan, lol!

Home with me at last!
Investigated by Nyah :)
Other arrivals on the same day included my vintage kimono fabric won on Ebay from the lovely Tomoko-san in Japan. Domo arigato T! It's every bit as gorgeous in the flesh!

Well worth the wait and what a lovely message. Great seller with lots of authentic vintage Japanese kimono.

That's all for the moment but expect a full reveal of the dressing table soon, I'm totally excited at this last piece for my bedroom makeover and then it's time to get stuck in again in the lounge which has issues all of its own!
Take care,
Samantha

Vintage Dressing Table Makeover

I'm sure you all remember how I've been rambling on about my love and longing for a vintage dressing table, well I've found one at long last! It's from the 1920's and in great condition. I can't wait to transform it into something more glamorous! Just like my picture of the diamante necklace below I'm hoping to give the dressing table a whole new 'Gatsby' feel. Decadent, dashing and deco! Stay tuned folks! ;)

Gardening day at H is for Home....

Well a busy day here at home. Gardening in the sun mostly. And here are some little pics for you to enjoy. I was so busy trimming and tidying I didn't get a chance to bbq (which is generally how I finish a day like this one!) and had fish and chips for dinner instead! A good days work deserves a reward ;). All this while battling an allergic reaction....eghhh.That's another story altogether!
Not everything is in flower yet and I still have some planting to do. The picture of the little green tree at the end is special because I'm hoping to graft a fruit tree onto it. Its a rowan tree and they graft sympathetically with pear and plums.....sooo the idea is to graft a quince onto it. I need to do a little research but I'll keep you updated:).love to you all.
